What are the role of youth for society?

    Based on Oxford Dictionary, the word Youth refers to the time of life when one is young, but often means the time between childhood and adulthood. Youth is the backbone of the nation. They can change the future of their society with their well-being and courageous behavior. The young has passion, dream and hope. As a citizen of the country, youth is really important for the society no mater where they come from, which races they are or what color their skin is. They have same obligations to help and develop their country so does the world.

    As the matter of fact, Youth has many roles in the society. Nevertheless, there are three main roles that all youth should know and complete.

    First, Youth plays and important role in national development. The term-national development or national building is usually referred to a constructive progress of engaging all citizens in building social cohesion, economic prosperity and political stability in nation. Youth is not only the leader of  tomorrow, but also the partner of today. Youth is social actors of change and progress. They're a crucial segment of national advancement. Their contribution ;therefore, is a must and highly need. Youth is the most important human resources of all. Youth has the ability to carried out the policies and development works of nation which older people are incapable of carrying out. If youth can unite and form solidarity, they can bring peace and happiness to their country. That's why youth are considered as the pillars of development.

    Second, Youth is the role model. Youth plays an important role in setting good example for the next generation such as their siblings, peers and especially their children. Youth who has received good influences from their parents, teachers, schools, coaches or their surrounding environment should use their good influences to inspire the younger generation. Children's mind can be compare to a blank sheet of paper. Once it gets dirty, they couldn't be cleaned. So to keep them from all the negativity, youth has to do the positive activities by showing them how to be a good person for their family, community and their society.

    The third role of youth is their participation. Youth has the role to involve in any kinds of social activities. Youth's participation is the active engagement of young people throughout their community. There are various kinds of youth participation ;for example, volunteering, donation, environmental protection, decision making...and much more. According to 2013 study, 90% of parents regularly consult their children when making decisions.

    In Conclusion, Youth has been the key to any kind of activities in the world. The hunger, motivation, desire, determination and highly energy of youth can make the differences in either destroying or building the nation. In order to turn the world into a better place for our lives, youth has to consider about their roles, uses them wise and helps the society.
